I****nstrumental Music Teacher 

String Orchestra - Middle School

 

We are seeking a skilled music educator who can foster an inclusive, inspiring, student-centered environment; teach novice to intermediate musicians; and sustain the growth of an established orchestra program. 

 

Required Certification: NJ Teacher of Music (CE, CEAS, Provisional, or Standard).

 

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of the 2020 New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Visual and Performing Arts, with a specific focus on the Music Ensembles strand.
  • Intentional integration of Universal Design for Learning principles and culturally responsive practices into instruction.
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one instrument, ideally a string instrument.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching novice to intermediate string instruments (violin, viola, cello, and double bass).
  • Proven success with directing school concerts and community performances.
  • Experience preparing students for and navigating participation in regional music festivals or adjudications.
  • Active implementation of recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Proficiency in managing an instrument inventory.
  • Ability to perform instrument maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Ability to travel between multiple school buildings if necessary.
  • Familiarity with the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching ( a plus).
  • Bilingual capability in Spanish ( a plus).  

Effective:  2026- 2027 School Year

 

Salary:

  • As per salary guide based on experience and earned degree level
  • Minimum $67,958 - maximum $99,181
