Goals: To provide a unique and truly well-rounded, arts-infused education for students in Moore County, particularly those with a serious interest in one or more artistic disciplines; To reach all students primarily through the arts, and to help them take ownership of their own education by tapping into Gardner's multiple intelligences in the classroom; To utilize various ways of teaching for children with diverse backgrounds and learning styles; To provide a learning atmosphere immersed in the arts for middle school age students; To make the arts come alive for all our students, and to give back to the community in which they live through public exhibitions and performances. Mission Statement: The Sandhills Theatre Arts Renaissance School combines an integrated arts curriculum with interdisciplinary teaching and daily arts instruction incorporated into a standard academic program. STARS will allow each child to master the curriculum and learn in a style that builds upon his or her strengths. By emphasizing the visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic aspects of learning, STARS provides an environment in which differences are celebrated rather than discouraged.
