Parents participate in the educational process through parental contracts and workshops offered to assist parents with homework and test preparation skills. Mater Academy East Charter School currently offers a multi-age learning environment with a proven track record in reaching low-income, predominantly ESOL students. Mater Academy was one of the first charter schools in Miami-Dade County, and has achieved higher reading and mathematics scores than the district average on various editions of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test.
