STEAM Coordinator-Curriculum and Instruction
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Alternative Education, Art, Assessment, Communications, Continuing Education, Curriculum, Distance Education, Elementary, English, Federal Programs, Foreign Language, Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, Outdoor Education, Physical Education, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Special Education, Technology, Vocational Education.
The license status must be active.
Essential Duties · Collaborates with STEAM Specialist to coordinate, develop and implement interdisciplinary STEAM learning experiences in elementary STEAM resource classrooms.
Provides high quality instructional coaching (including modeling, co-teaching, and teaching) focused on STEAM as an instructional strategy for elementary STEAM resource teachers.
Plans, develops, and delivers high-quality professional development around the deeper learning model and STEAM as an instructional strategy for elementary STEAM resource teachers.
Integrates VDOE K-12 Computer Science Standards as appropriately aligned to learning objectives
Assists in developing curriculum and providing resources that support deeper learning utilizing STEAM as a structure for instructional delivery.
· Works collaboratively with the STEAM Specialist to design, implement, monitor and evaluate successful STEAM initiatives and curriculum at the elementary level.
Organizes, evaluates and writes grants to secure STEAM funding
Creates collaborative partnerships with community members, businesses and universities for organize and implement authentic learning experiences for students
Collects and analyzes data from a number of sources to monitor and evaluate successful STEAM initiatives and curriculum
Assists in developing curriculum that supports deeper learning utilizing STEAM as a structure for instructional delivery.
Participates in actively recruiting highly qualified teachers for elementary STEAM resource positions
· Attends professional development and training related to STEAM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research for teaching in a STEAM setting.
