Junior High Computer/Business/Career Education Teacher
Morrison Junior High School is seeking a teacher to fill a multi-faceted position. The chosen applicant will plan, prepare, implement, monitor, and evaluate 1) technology education including keyboarding skills, Google Drive, and digital citizenship (6th grade), 2) introduce money management skills to students to prepare them with financial literacy skills crucial to life after school (7th grade), 3) incorporate beginning Business Education curriculum leading to the development of student skills sufficient to help in preparation for career and college readiness. (8th grade)
Create lesson plans and assignments as outlined on the Scope and Sequence
Instruct and provide coaching to students on essential life and career readiness skills
Show how to apply classroom knowledge through hands-on activities
Monitor students’ progress, assign tasks, and grade assignments
Support students in using Career Cruising as a tool for career exploration and assist students in creating a digital portfolio
Maintain community contacts and establish partnerships to connect students to real-world opportunities for learning
Instruct students on essential 21st Century Skills including, but not limited to, financial literacy, digital citizenship, and use of technology in the school setting.
Provide instruction on the 6th - 8th grade SEL Standards that address collaboration, problem-solving, and other related standards
Discuss students’ progress with parents, students, and counselors
Develop and enforce classroom rules and safety procedures
Maintain professional competence through job-related in-service education activities
Terms of Employment: 10 month year, salary and work year according to the Master Teacher Contract.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation and the Master Teacher Contract.
