Description

LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking a College Access Program Associate (K-3)  to assist the Principal in the supervision and coordination of the total educational program within the school.

Reports to: Principal
 
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the use of Excel, Word Processing and Database software.
 
Primary Function: Responsible for coordinating academic support for students grades K-3.  Operates as a part of a team effort to coordinate preparation to ensure that every student is provided with the necessary academic support to achieve.
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate Student Academic Achievement
  • Assists in student record maintenance and individual achievement plans; ensuring confidentiality;
  • Schedule parent education programs engaging parents as part of the academic and emotional transition of students;
  • Participate in various school-wide committees, including: Discipline Committee, Curriculum Committee, Hispanic Heritage Month Committee, and Black History Month Committee.
  • Coordinate external program opportunities for students and secure student participations
  • Coordinate the activities of various students’ leadership groups including selection of students, induction, activities of inductees.
  • Refer students to appropriate tutoring and supplemental instruction services and monitor participation.
  • Coordinate academic assemblies, graduation ceremonies, and field trips
  • Coordinate academic incentives programs including coordinating activities to highlight student achievement.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Lead Person or Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Twelve month contracted position.  Salary, hours and work year to be determined by Board in consultation with Lead Person.
 
EVALUATION:  Annually according to state statute and rule and Board policy.
