Specific Responsibilities of Substitute Teaching Position: • Prepare and implement lesson plans • Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served • Use data from formal and informal assessments to drive instructional decisions • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals • Provide individualized, small group, and whole group instruction based upon student’s needs • Observe and evaluate student's performance • Maintain a safe and positive classroom atmosphere conducive to student learning • Manage student behavior in accordance with building expectations • Communicate student progress to parents/guardians • Follow School City of Hammond policies and guidelines • Participate in professional development opportunities
