Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Biology/Life Science, Chemistry, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Physics, Science (General), Space Science.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Specific Responsibilities of Teaching Position: • Prepare and implement lesson plans • Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served • Use data from formal and informal assessments to drive instructional decisions • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals • Provide individualized, small group, and whole group instruction based upon student’s needs • Observe and evaluate student's performance • Maintain a safe and positive classroom atmosphere conducive to student learning • Manage student behavior in accordance with building expectations • Communicate student progress to parents/guardians • Follow School City of Hammond policies and guidelines • Participate in professional development opportunities
