Instructional Assistant Exceptional Education
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th.
The license status must be active.
Essential Duties Under the guidance of the teacher, this individual assists with all aspects of instructional programming including helping to produce instructional materials, maintain the smooth functioning of the classroom, prepare the classroom for instruction, and work with individual students or small groups when assigned. • Monitors students as designated • Provides one on one instruction with students when directed by the teacher • Assists with field trips, community-based instruction, and other activities • Assists with instruction as supervised by the teacher • Assists students with special hygiene, mobility, feeding matters when assigned • Collects data on student performance and progress directed by the teacher • Assists with collecting and distributing materials as directed by teacher • Assist with implementation of behavior management plans as directed by teacher • Performs other duties as assigned
