QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree preferred. Certifications or specialized training relating to technical industrial training is preferred.
 
Minimum three years experience in manufacturing with strong background in industrial technology. Prefer experience as a trainer or consultant. Qualified candidates will possess strong business development, communications, and interpersonal skills. Qualified candidates will be self directed, able to work with minimal supervision, and accountable for performance.
 
JOB SUMMARY
This position will work with businesses in southwest Iowa and surrounding areas to assess training needs and to develop, market, and deliver training programs related to those needs. This position will provide customized solutions when appropriate requiring continuous adaptation of programs and products. This position will deliver some programs and will contract with outside vendors to deliver others. Programs will focus on topics related to industrial technology such as power systems, electrical applications in industry, automation, measurement systems, blueprints, fabrication techniques, mechanical systems, and related topics.  
 
DUTIES

§  Travel throughout southwest Iowa to establish relationships with business and industry.
 
§  Develop the market for industrial technology training and related programs in southwest Iowa. Establish relationships and maintain direct contact with targeted clients and intermediaries.
 
§  Develop, acquire, or arrange access to a comprehensive set of offerings in industrial technology training.
 
§  Develop and utilize a network of contract training providers and consultants.
 
§  Diagnose company training or consulting needs, and deliver or coordinate the delivery of appropriate training or consulting solutions.
 
§  Work in close cooperation with the Director of Economic Development to promote and develop new programs under the 260E, 260F, and similar job training programs.
 
§  Monitor program revenues and expenses and be accountable for the positive financial performance of the position.
 
§  Cooperate and contribute as a member of the Economic & Workforce Development Team at IWCC. Promote the division and the products and services within the division. Make referrals to other team members as appropriate.
 
§  Develop relationships and work cooperatively with a statewide consortium of community colleges and other providers of training resources.
                 
§  Participate in personal and professional development activities to stay current on new developments, topics, and programs in the field.
 
§  Maintain appropriate and accurate files and records and adhere to the administrative functions of the position.
                                   
§  Perform other duties as assigned.
