School Advocate/ Reading or Mathematics Specialist

The Northwest Service Cooperative-Northern Center of Excellence is seeking to add a Reading or Mathematics specialist/school advocate to our team.
The purpose of the School Advocate / Reading or Mathematics Specialist position is to provide general school improvement technical assistance and support in the Minnesota Department of Education’s (MDE) regional Centers of Educational Excellence. The School Advocate / Reading or Mathematics Specialist works with school teams and teachers to coordinate improvement efforts for all students.
- Qualifications: Licensed as a teacher of reading, with demonstrated proficiency in all licensure standards as described in Rule 8710.4725; experience as a classroom teacher, preferably in more than one grade level or course OR Licensed as a secondary of mathematics teacher or as an elementary teacher with an emphasis in mathematics; experience as a classroom teacher, preferably in more than one grade level or course.
- Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
- Employment Dates: Start date flexible, between 03/01/14 and 07/01/14
NOTE: The NWSC grant contract with the Minnesota Department of Education operates through June 30, 2014. Continued employment is contingent upon 2014-2015 award and period of grant contract.
