Special Education Teacher Part/Full Time (Anticipated)

Anderson School anticipates the need for a part or full time special education teacher for the 2018-2019 school year and is seeking qualified applicants.

Description:
The position is responsible for case managing and providing special education services for students with significant social, emotional and/or behavioral needs.  The teacher not only case manages students with IEPs but also works collaboratively with general education teachers, special education teachers, and other staff through MTSS.

Qualifications:
Special Education certification is required.  Additional experience working with students with disabilities is preferred including previous training in de-escalation/behavioral management strategies, understanding of understanding of applied behavior analysis, and a breadth of knowledge of social and emotional needs of young adolescents.  A proven ability to collaborate, plan, problem-solve and communicate with special and general education staff is necessary.  Experience of managing and supporting paraprofessional staff is desired. Familiarity with middle school curriculum is also beneficial.

Working Conditions:
Serve as a contributing member to the special education teaching staff and MTSS team, attending to the needs of students with significant social, emotional, academic, and foundational life skills needs.

(2017-2018 starting 1.0FTE base salary $36,673 w/ $625 a month towards insurance benefits)
