Qualified applicants must be enrolled in an approved Ed.S. or Ph.D program of study and have training in assessment, consultation, problem solving, counseling, progress monitoring, classroom management, social-emotional learning, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This position offers a competitive stipend.

An internship at District 29 would provide experience in collaborative problem solving within a multi-tiered service delivery model for both academic and social emotional needs. The intern would assist in collecting data within a Review Interview Observe Test (RIOT) framework and would work under supervision to prepare and analyze progress-monitoring data before problem solving meetings. A wide range of assessment experiences would be available including curriculum-based measurement (CBM) and curriculum-based evaluation (CBE) as well as conducting initial and re-evaluations for Special Education. For the 2020-2021 school year the district will be focusing on extending our programming to provide a larger continuum of services to students exhibiting challenging behaviors. This allows the intern to be involved in a systems-level change to increase the provision of evidence-based strategies for managing the most serious behaviors to increase our multi-tier system of supports.
