Must hold a certificate issued by Florida Department of Education.
The certificate must be in one of the following types: Professional Certificate, Temporary Certificate, Statement of Status of Eligibility.
The certificate position area must be in Counselor/Guidance.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: Preschool/Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th.
The certificate status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

JOB PURPOSE Provides support services to students, staff, and parents. Support services include guidance, referrals, counseling, assessment, diagnostics, and report writing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES GUIDANCE COUNSELOR - Provides direct support service to individual students, small groups, and classrooms - Counsels students on personal and academic concerns and notify parents as deemed necessary - Completes assessments, referrals, and counseling with students and families - Develops and maintains family outreach programs and community partnerships - Serves as a member of the leadership team, Response to Intervention team, and other school based teams - Completes written reports as needed or as requested by principal - Completes reports as required by federal, States and local agencies
INTERVENTION COORDINATOR - Coordinate overall RtI efforts - Plan and deliver ongoing staff development for teachers with respect to RtI - Promote the use of researched-based interventions - Collect and analyze student data - Oversees data collection and progress monitoring at every tier - Use data to help teachers plan whole and small group instruction - Use data to help teachers identify and group students who need additional help - Support teachers in documenting student progress - Create intervention schedules for teachers who will conduct interventions
STUDENT PROGRESSION - Meet with parents/students prior to and during the registration process and subject selection, inform students of classes relative to course selection and assist in the administration in the registration and scheduling process - Assist in the development of the school’s master schedule - Conduct follow up meetings after the master schedule is developed to make necessary changes in student schedules - Conduct orientation meetings to provide information regarding class offerings and registration procedures - Evaluate credits from outside sources - Provide trainings to teachers, parents, and students, on the pupil progression plan
ADVISORY COORDINATOR - Coordinate the school’s advisory program - Provide teachers with advisory purpose and roles during teacher orientation week - Provide materials and suggestions for classroom oriented guidance activities that focus on academic support, social support, and emotional support - Monitor the implementation of the program and evaluates its success making revisions as needed
