Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging and gratifying employment opportunity in the Early Childhood Division of the School for the Blind. We are seeking two dynamic and visionary individuals to join our team as an Educator for the Blind/Low Vision Preschool Classroom located in Springville.
Roles and Responsibilities: -Perform the duties of a classroom instructor for the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, Blind/Visually Impaired (B/VI) division. -Provide appropriate programming for blind/visually impaired students, three to five years of age. -Maintain safe and healthy practices. -Conduct IEP meetings, collaboratively develop IEP goals, implement and monitor goals and report progress. -Prepare daily schedules, lesson plans, for individual, small and whole group activities, that are engaging and developmentally appropriate. -Generate information/reports on children as appropriate. -Advise and teach parents in the area of blindness/visual impairment. -Provide and maintain equipment/materials. -Take a collaborative role at staffing meetings, training, PLC’s, etc. -Perform other duties as assigned.
