Description

Job Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the Banquet Manager, the Event Custodian is responsible for having all rooms, tables and chairs set-up and cleaned before party time
and for performing a
variety of custodial duties to maintain the Hoosier Grove Barn and other assigned District facilities.
The Event Custodian is responsible for performing the essential functions as outlined
below.
This is a part-time position with hours primarily assigned on weekends and early
mornings, with other hours assigned as needed. This is an at-will position.
 

Qualifications

Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
Candidate must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Candidate must have a valid Driver’s License.
Candidate must have basic knowledge, skills and experience in facility maintenance and cleaning.
Candidate must be CPR & AED certified within six (6) months of hiring (District
provided).
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities  

Employee must check email for work schedule and work-related communications.
Employee must demonstrate, support and enforce Park District customer service standards.
Employee must establish, support and maintain collaborative efforts with internal and external customers and organizations.
Employee must set-up room prior to event according to layout and event schedule.
 
Employee must breakdown room and return all tables and chairs to storage area neatly after event is over.  
Employee must ensure that the tables and chairs are clean before returning to the storage area.  
Employee must clean rooms after an event. Cleaning (as needed) includes, but is not limited to sweeping the floors, mopping the floors, cleaning windows, cleaning tables and chairs, etc.
Employee must take out garbage when setting up between events.
Employee must clean various types of flooring with appropriate cleaning supplies and
equipment.  
Employee must inspect facilities, equipment and property for signs of wear, damage or vandalism.
Employee must attend staff meetings, as needed.
Employee must be prompt and prepared for scheduled hours.
