Paraeducator / 28.75 Special Education / Highland School

Description:
Paraeducator to work individually or with small groups under the direction of the Special Education Teacher and/or General Education Teacher. Primary responsibility is to assist students per their Individual Education Plan. Responsibilities include reinforcing material presented by teacher, preparation of materials, implementing behavior plans, assisting with technology and may include assisting with self-care. Candidate must be able to assist in lifting a maximum of 50 pounds.

Supervised By:
School principal or his/her designee.

Qualifications:
High school diploma.  Two years of higher education preferred.

Salary:
In accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and CSEA/SEIU Local 2001/760 in Behalf of the Cheshire Paraeducators and Lunchroom/Playground Aides. Starting Salary $18.00/hour.  Benefits Available.
