Substitute Custodian-As Needed Only:District Wide

SUMMARY:

Serve as a substitute custodian on an as needed basis only.

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Maintenance, Principal(s), and Administrators, performs general cleaning and maintenance of school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in functional condition; and provides cleaning and custodial assistance to students, teachers, visitors and others as necessary.

DUTIES:

• Takes initiative in completing cleaning tasks in a timely manner
• Moves classrooms, furniture and equipment.
• Assembles and/or repairs classroom furniture
• Performs general cleaning of facilities including but not limited to:
• Vacuuming
• Mopping
• Cleaning wood, linoleum, tile and other floors
• Shampooing rugs and carpets
• Emptying trash cans
• Dusting all surfaces
• Washing windows
• Using equipment, commercial vacuums, floor buffers and carpet cleaners
• Collecting and taking out trash and recycling
• Performs summer building maintenance (e.g. painting, carpet cleaning, stripping and waxing floors)
• Performs seasonal maintenance and ground activities, including snow removal and cutting grass
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma
• Be able and willing to relate well with district personnel and community.
• Be willing and able to take direction and scheduling from the Director of Maintenance, Administrative Personnel, and building staff.
• Be of good health, dependable, responsible, and a self-starter.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Completed Background Check Form through the Regional Office of Education #30
• Completed Health Exam by a Certified Physician
• Completed TB Exam by a Certified Physician
