CTE Center Position- Architectural Design Teacher
Pay Grade:  820  (Min $340.54 per day)
Work Days:  185

Primary Purpose:
The Cybersecurity Teacher instructs students in cybersecurity fundamentals, networking, digital forensics, and system protection.
Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
  • Industry experience in IT/cybersecurity.
Certification in one of the following: 
  • Computer Science: Secondary, Grades 6-12 or Grades 9-12: Computer Information Systems
  • Technology Applications: Early Childhood – Grade 12 Grades 8-12 
  • Technology Education: Grades 6-12 
  • Trade and Industrial Education: Grades 6-12 - This assignment requires appropriate work approval; Grades 8-12 - This assignment requires appropriate work approval. 
  • Trade and Industrial Workforce Training: Grades 6-12. This assignment requires appropriate work approval. 
  • Vocational Trades and Industry - This assignment requires appropriate work approval.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity, networking, digital forensics, and system protection.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Teach network security, ethical hacking basics, threat detection, and cybersecurity tools.
  • Oversee secure lab environments and virtualized training systems.
  • Prepare students for certifications (CompTIA Security+, Network+, etc.).
  • Collaborate with industry partners for competitions (CyberPatriots).
  • Secure opportunities for work-based learning and internships.

Computer, scanner, printer, copier, calculator

Mental Demands:
Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
