Description: Administrative Assistant to the Middle School Principal
Job Summary: To provide essential administrative and clerical support to the Principal, ensuring the efficient daily operation of the school’s main office. This position serves as a primary point of contact for students, staff, parents, and visitors, and plays a key role in maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming school environment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma; secretarial training
- Experience in general or school office work
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in automated office equipment, coupled with excellent word processing and comprehensive secretarial skills
- Strong analytical, communication and human relations skills
- Ability to deal with students, staff members and the public with courtesy, patience and efficiency
- Microsoft Office 365 knowledge a plus
- Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status
Responsibilites:
- Demonstrates ability to organize time and tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrates ability to handle confidential material in an efficient and appropriate manner.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining efficient workflow of the office.
- Prepare purchase orders for the purpose of submitting to the school district's accounting/finance office.
- Answers telephone calls, and provide information and assistance to callers.
- Performs all secretarial work as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Demonstrates ability to perform a variety of duties efficiently; is multi-tasked.
- Adapts readily to changes in assignments and conditions.
- Demonstrates versatility as a self-started and the ability to work without immediate supervision.
- Maintains a schedule of appointments for the immediate supervisor and makes arrangements for conferences, meetings and interviews.
- Assists in maintaining documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
- Distribute incoming mail appropriately; sends outgoing mail.
- Assists in gathering appropriate information and in preparing reports as required.
- Responds to inquiries from students, parents and employees, providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor, building administrators and/or the Superintendent.
Start Date: January 1, 2026
Working Conditions: 12 month, full-time,Level 3 with benefits
Salary Range: $50,000 - $57,000
