Job Summary:
Perform a variety of repair and maintenance duties on building structures and systems for Operations and Maintenance. These activities include, but are not limited to, janitorial, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, plastering, and locksmithing. Respond to and prioritize work orders. Troubleshoot to diagnose problems and determine repair or maintenance needs.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma/GED
• 2+ years of general maintenance work experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Proficiency in one or more of the following: basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, painting, plastering, and locksmithing.
• Mechanical aptitude and leadership skills are helpful.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of facilities and equipment for various school events.
• Assist with cleaning up bodily messes, including vomit, feces, urine, and blood.
• Disinfect areas throughout the school as needed.  
• Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, and stand, walk or stoop extensively.
• Should be noted that the exact duties may change without notice as needed.
• A valid driver’s license.

• Conduct oneself as a representative of the Lafayette Catholic School System.

Benefits:

• Part Time – 25-29 hrs/week
• Paid Time Off – Holiday, sick, and personal time
• FLSA:  Non-Exempt (Eligible for Overtime)

Completion of Diocesan Safe & Sacred Protocol Training, as well as a background check, will be required for employment in this position.
