JOB SUMMARY
The Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) will provide behavior analysis services and support the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans for special education students under the clinical Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). In addition, this person will provide support and professional learning to school staff, paraprofessionals, and parents/guardians regarding, behavior intervention techniques, conducting assessments, and developing behavior intervention plans, all under the guidance and oversight of a clinical BCBA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position; it is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties.
- Act as liaison with the public and mental health community for the purpose of supporting individual student development goals as directed by a clinical BCBA.
- Administer programs and services for behaviorally or emotionally disabled students for the purpose of improved functioning and ensuring program eligibility and compliance with established guidelines with the clinical BCBA support.
- Assist with student crisis intervention following established protocols and BCBA clinical guidance.
- Assist in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments and behavior plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students with challenging behaviors in collaboration with and under the supervision of a clinical BCBA.
- Assist in developing procedures and training materials for District staff involved with students with challenging behaviors for the purpose of enhancing programs for students and ensuring that program operations are in compliance with established guidelines with support of the clinical BCBA.
- Collaborate with school personnel, agencies, and families in coordinating individualized services for students.
- Collect and summarizes behavioral data.
- Complete all reporting requirements as mandated by the district, state, federal, and educational agencies (i.e. restraint and seclusion, assessments, behavioral data) ensuring accuracy and submitting to the clinical BCBA for review.
- Conduct workshops, trainings, in-service presentations, and related activities on classroom management techniques and other topics for the purpose of developing skills and establishing effective relationships with behaviorally or emotionally challenged students under the direction of a clinical BCBA.
- Facilitate and coach’s teams through the development and implementation of functional behavior assessments/behavior interventions plans and crisis plans for identified students with direct supervision and collaboration with a clinical BCBA.
- Engage school personnel on research-based methods of classroom management and behavioral strategies as designed by a clinical BCBA.
- Participate in the development of Individualized Educational Programs for students.
- Participate in a variety of meetings, workshops and committees for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remaining knowledgeable with program guidelines, during contractually work hours.
- Clinical supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians
- Perform related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Experience working with young children
- Public school experience with students displaying social/emotional/behavioral needs
- Experience in behavior management (development and program implementation)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst Certification (BCaBA)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-3 years of school-based experience working with students with autism and other behavior challenges
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in clinical supervising RBT’s
Days: Monday – Friday
Salary: $39.48 per hour
Group/Step: Group 5, step 3
Bargaining Unit: NFEP
Work Year: 11 months/37.5 hours
This position follows the school-year calendar, with the added requirement of working during the summer school session. The schedule includes time off in June during the week prior to the start of summer school, active work during the summer school session, time off in August once the summer session ends, and a return on the first student day of the new school year.
