Bus Driver/Custodian - Edustaff

Lamphere Schools is contracting the services of Edustaff for Bus/Custodial staff. 

Position: School Bus Driver/Custodian - Full Time
Hours: 6:30-4:15
Location: Lamphere Schools
Pay Rate: $19.00-$22.72 per hour (based on experience) 

The Lamphere School District is currently contracting the services of Edustaff for a Bus Driver/Custodian position. The role offers a unique opportunity to work full-time, combining student transportation with custodial duties to provide a consistent 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week.

Bus Drivers may also perform custodial work on non-student days, holiday breaks, and during the summer, ensuring stable, year around employment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• One year of successful experience transporting students (preferred)
• Clean driving record (required)
• Ability to maintain a current DOT Medical Card
• Valid State of Michigan CDL license, type CB, with P,S, and Air Brake endorsements (We are willing to train candidates who do not yet have a CDL-B)
• Strong communication and public relations skill when working with students, staff, and community
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity for all required tasks
• Ability to perform routine custodial duties and withstand physical demands
• Must pass all DOT required random drug/alcohol screenings
• Other qualifications as determined by administration

Responsibilities: 

Transportation

• Safely transport assigned students in a courteous, professional manner
• Perform and document daily pre- and post- trip inspections
• Follow all traffic ordinances and district safety procedures
• Adhere to scheduled route times
• Show proficiency in maneuvering and operating a school bus
• Assist students on/off the bus when needed
• Participate in required state training) safety meetings) and staff meetings
• Complete daily and annual records) logs) and reports
• Manage student behavior to maintain a safe environment
• Check all fire, emergency, and first aid equipment
• Keep the bus clean and sanitary at all times

Custodial

• Perform routine custodial tasks as assigned
• Support building cleanliness during school days, non-student days, breaks, and summer
• Assist with general cleaning, event setup/tear down, and light building maintenance
• Additional duties as assigned by administration

Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.
Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. 
All staff members are expected to maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward one another at all times.
