Property Building Maintenance Opening: Full-Time Position - St Jude School Elyria

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team. As a maintenance worker you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are well maintained, safe, and functional. This position requires a self-motivated individual with a proactive approach able to work independently. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of building maintenance and repair practices.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

*    Create and maintain effective liaison with Facilities Manager, communicate and resolve issues, and identifying those that need attention.
*    Check the functionality of safety systems, including alarms and ensure that they are properly set and reset as required. Maintaining safety logs.
*    Perform minor repairs as needed throughout the Campus in the scope of plumbing basic electrical changing bulbs replacing light fixtures, ceiling tiles, broken windows assure any need for building repairs needed is communicated to Facilities Manager.
*    Inspect and troubleshot HVAC systems and electrical control panels to identify issues.
*    Assist in the upkeep of school grounds maintenance grass mowing, snow removal, trimming, hedging and garbage removal and not limited to mopping, sweeping.
*    Basic maintenance of facilities equipment, mowers snowblowers, floor scrubbers etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma-Valid Driver License-Able to lift 40 pounds-General knowledge of routine building maintenance-Ability to prioritize and multitask. This position requires VIRTUS certification and FBI/BCI background check once hired.
