Math Teachers for the 2019-2020 School Year
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in Math (General).
The license must be in one of the following grades: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Salary Scale: 200 Day Salary Scale FLSA Status: Exempt General Responsibilities: Provide guidance and support in the area of math instruction and learning to teachers. Essential Duties: (This list is intended solely as an illustration of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude their addition if they are similar to or a logical extension of the position.) • Supports teachers in effective math instruction researching by providing content knowledge and resources about learning and the teaching of math, to include but not limited to teaching strategies, assessment of math skills, interpretation of assessment results, etc. • Shares strategies that result in improving student success in math. • Redelivers training in the areas of reading and writing across the curriculum and specific instructional framework needs. • Researches and prepares materials for the use by the department, teachers, or school, including but not limited to teaching strategies, assessment of math skills, interpretation of assessment results, etc. • Researches and provides information and guidance regarding a range of effective and innovative math practices through various activities such as individual discussions (informal and formal), coaching sessions, classroom demonstrations, study groups, staff meetings, and professional development programs. • Maintains paperwork consistently, appropriately and in a timely manner. • Maintains the confidentiality of schools, teachers, and classrooms. • Assists with assessments and coordination of various special academic programs • Meets monthly with the division Math K-12 Specialist • Provides support to teachers at the school level. • Performs other duties as assigned. Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Knowledge of current research and best practices in math instruction and learning. • Strong speaking and presentation skills. • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet established deadlines. • Serve as role model.
