School Year: 2025-2026
Location: Carbondale Middle School
Reports to: Carbondale Middle School Principal
Classification: Certified Exempt - Part-Time (0.5 FTE / 20 hours per week)
Contract Period: 185 working days.
Salary Range
- *$54,000 to $82,320 (Based on education and years of relevant teaching experience) *The annual salary listed above is based on a full-time, 8-hour workday (FTE 1) and a full working calendar. For positions with less than a full FTE or reduced hours, such as part-time or late-start positions, the salary will be prorated accordingly. Certified Salary Schedule

Position Overview
- Our current essentials classes include enrichment topics such as P.E., Art, and STEM, and we are seeking a fourth enrichment offering for students. We are open to any subject that aligns with Colorado State Standards and for which candidates have both passion and expertise. Candidates should have a strong understanding of standards-based instruction and backward design principles, with the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students. They must also be skilled in fostering a positive classroom environment, implementing efficient procedures and routines, and using strategies to make content accessible, engaging, and challenging.
Necessary Credentials
- Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- MUST have an active Colorado Teaching License in Elementary Education K-6 or in a specific subject area, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. If additional coursework or a preparation program is required, the applicant must provide proof of enrollment and submission of the required documentation to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) within 30 days of employment.
- Official transcripts must be provided upon hire. For international transcripts, an evaluation is required through a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Desired Qualifications
- Solid understanding of core subjects such as language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Effective teaching strategies to engage learners, including differentiation, lesson planning, and assessment.
- Ability to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Tailoring teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with special needs.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools that support learning.

- Speaking and writing ability in Spanish is not required, but is a plus
Physical Requirements
May include, standing and walking for extended periods; bend, stoop, and lift materials; reach for supplies on high shelves; use manual dexterity for tasks like writing and using technology; communicate clearly and effectively with students; climb stairs in multi-level buildings.
