Description

Part-time, 9 month position.  

Job Description:
Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by the teacher.  This work may take place in the regular classroom or in another designated area as mutually agreed on by the aide and teacher.           
                                   

Works with individual students or small groups to preteach reading objectives using materials as designated appropriate by teacher and Title I Director.  This work may take place in the regular classroom or in another designated area as mutually agreed on by the aide and teacher.

Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs interests, and abilities.

Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with students.

Alerts the regular teacher to any problems or special information about an individual student.

Completes all forms and records that are required by Title I.

Attends and participates in all staff meetings and parent meetings that are required by their building principal or Title I.

Attends and participates in inservice training programs as required by the building principal and Title I.Performs playground supervision during lunchtime or supervision during breakfast if so required by the building principal.
