Hourly/Temporary
Under limited supervision, supports the Coordinator of Dropout Prevention and Mentoring Services in the operation and implementation of the District Dropout Prevention Programs, Mentoring Programs and R1 CHAMPS Program. Provides guidance and instruction to students participating in these programs. Assists in evaluating and selecting instructional materials and equipment. Reports to the Coordinator of Dropout Prevention and Mentoring Services.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
-Plan and coordinate activities related to department programs.
-Assist the staff and volunteers with increasing awareness of Dropout Prevention, R1 CHAMPS and Mentoring Programs.
-Support the planning and implementation of resources and programs.
Performs general administrative and clerical tasks, including but not limited to, typing, copying and filing documents; answering the telephone; scheduling appointments; attending meetings; maintaining files and records; assisting with lunch distribution for students. Performs related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a current college student and have completed one semester.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including a computer, telephone, audio-visual equipment, vehicle, etc. Must be able to exert up to five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of twenty-five to sixty pounds.
