Lunchroom/Hallway Supervisor (Multiple Positions at Maercker and Westview)

JOB GOAL:
The Hallway/Lunchroom Monitor is responsible for overseeing student behavior throughout the school day, ensuring a positive and safe school culture. This role involves effective communication with students and staff, adherence to school and district policies, and participation in job-related training as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to demonstrate patience and empathy while working with a diverse student population
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all staff and students
• Ability to problem solve and exhibit initiative
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information
• Ability to manage and resolve conflicts calmly and effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Monitor student behavior in hallways, cafeteria, classrooms, or other assigned areas.
• Enforce all school rules and procedures equitably as established by the building principal.
• Escort students to and from various locations (class, office, etc.) as requested.
• Communicate behavioral concerns to teachers and administrators.
• Take appropriate action to defuse student conflicts as trained.
• Interact with students and monitor their actions by circulating throughout the area.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all students and staff.
• Perform all other duties as assigned from time to time by administration.
• Adhere to the district’s mission, vision and core values, and all performance expectations outlined in board policy and the appropriate evaluation document.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work as part of a team   
• Ability to follow oral and written directions
• Strong interpersonal relations, communication, problem solving, leadership and organizational skills 

PAY:  $15/hour   School-time position.  Hours dependent upon school location.  Maercker School -  8:30am to 3:30 pm; Westview Hills Middle Schools - 7:30am to 2:30pm
