Position/Title: School Social Worker / School Counselor 6-8 Coverage
Description: SEDOL needs a School Social Worker/ School Counselor coverage for 6 - 8 weeks for the 2024-2025 schol year starting 08/15/2024. Responsibilities include but are not limited to IEP meetings, individual case study evaluations, functional behavioral analysis and behavior intervention plans. The school social worker will assist with behavioral concerns, positive behavioral support, and consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators as well as provide social skill groups utilizing a social emotional curriculum designed for low-incidence populations.
Type of Employment: 6-8 weeks coverage, School Year 2024-2025
Qualifications: Professional Education License (PEL) School Social Worker, Professional Educator License (PEL) School Counselor
Direct Supervisor: Director of Special Services and dependent upon assignment, Sector Supervisor or Program Principal or District Special Education Coordinator
Overview: The School Social Worker/School Counselor uses of assessment, counseling, consultation and coordination of services, School Social Workers/Counselors effectively serve students, parents, school and community. School social workers/counselors also assist school staff in developing, implementing and evaluating programs at SEDOL and in the member districts.
Performance Responsibilities:
* 1. Provides individual, group and/or family treatment to identified students in order to enhance success in school.
* 2. Provides crises intervention services to student, school or community.
* 3. Provides consultation to teachers, administrators, parents and community agencies.
* 4. Completes diagnostic evaluations on identified students in a timely manner.
5. Maintains expertise in appropriate formal Adaptive Behavior Scales and initiates and completes Adaptive Behavior Scales on identified students.
6. Assumes lead position on WRAP team, as needed.
* 7. Initiates linkage and maintains follow up services to community agencies on behalf of identified students.
8. Maintains current and professional knowledge of available community resources in order to benefit students and families.
* 9. Assumes role of case manager for identified case study evaluations.
* 10. Attends I.E.P., parent conferences, team meetings and Department meetings as indicated.
* 11. Maintains adequate daily attendance.
12. Maintains and updates records of students in a timely manner as per SEDOL policies.
13. Maintains and completes an accurate record of SEDOL-based expenditures per SEDOL policy.
14. Presents workshops and/or inservices on a variety of psycho-social topics as the need arises.
15. Identifies, implements, and evaluates social/emotional based school curriculum.
16. Participates in Department and SEDOL-wide committees.
17. Assumes other responsibilities at the discretion of supervisor/principal.

Salary: $44,799 - $72,440 based on education and experience.
