Cyd Lash provides an alternative high school setting, which uses a team approach, a variety of program models and support services to meet the unique academic, emotional and social needs of the students. Students must be deemed eligible for this setting by their home district’s Individual Education Program (IEP) team. Cyd Lash Academy uses the Circle of Courage model to guide the therapeutic approach used with students.
Position/Title: STEM Teacher (Middle and High School)
Qualifications:
- PEL and LBS1 Required. Additional experience in Science, Technology,Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous teaching experience in a middle or high school setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of STEM subjects and a passion for teaching and inspiringstudents
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment that fostersstudent learning and growth•Proficiency in using technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current witheducational trends and best practices.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive STEM curriculum for middle and high school students in accordance with state and district standards.
- Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Integrate technology and real-world applications into the classroom to enhance student understanding and interest in STEM subjects.
- Assess and evaluate student performance regularly through quizzes, tests, projects, and other assessment tools.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve and succeed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and academic excellence.
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and staff to develop and refine the STEM curriculum and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Stay current with advancements in STEM education and incorporate new knowledge and best practices into teaching.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as STEM clubs, competitions, and field trips, to further enrich students' learning experiences.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and address any concerns.
Salary: $44,799 - $72,440 based on education and experience.
