Early Childhood Education Teacher

EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER
 
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Early Childhood Teacher will provide a developmentally appropriate class environment favorable to learning and personal growth of children, to facilitate children’s development of communication, abilities, attitudes, skills, and knowledge need to provide a good foundation for future success in school based on the Illinois Early Learning Standards; The Early Childhood Teacher will build strong ties between home and school to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.  This is a position at a full day PreK program at Richton Square School.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Provide learning experiences in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, fine arts, foreign language, social/emotional development, and other subject in accordance with the curriculum
• Develop and use instructional materials suitable for verbal or visual instruction of children with a wide range of mental, physical and emotional maturities
• Provide ongoing observation and authentic assessment of  children and maintain documentation of each child’s progress and growth
• Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals, parents and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips to maintain maximum benefit from their efforts
• Cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping children solve health, attitude and learning problems

 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Illinois Professional Educator License for Early Childhood/Preschool Teacher
• Experience working with young children is desired
