PARK COUNTY RE2 SCHOOL DISTRICT IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR AN ELEMENTARY INTERVENTIONIST

DESCRIPTION Intervention specialists work to support children with special academic, social, and behavioral needs. They work with parents and teachers to design and implement individualized programs that best fit the child’s situation. Intervention specialists often assess multiple elements including the child’s language, religion, and developmental level.

In the intervention specialist role, you will help special needs children get the most from their education by creating and implementing personalized learning plans. You will provide assistance in behavior support while acting as a mediator during conflicts between students. Success in this role will be demonstrated by your ability to help students adapt to the current learning environment in their own ways.

GENERAL DUTIES • Identifies and assess a child’s unique needs • Collaborates with parents, teachers, and relevant persons to create and implement individualized learning plans • Maintains and analyzes each student’s behavioral records • Performs consultations with relevant parties to address student’s special educational, behavioral, and social needs • Acts as a supervisor to students during activities • Advises other school personnel and colleagues on proper care of special needs students

Our campus is home to Edith Teter Preschool, Edith Teter Elementary, and South Park Middle and High Schools. We are the home of the Miners (for the elementary school) and the Burros (for middle and high schools)! Students attend our schools from the surrounding towns of Alma, Jefferson, Como, Hartsel, Guffey, Lake George, and of course, Fairplay. Our students and staff enjoy a 4-day school week, Monday-Thursday, 7:30 am -4:30 pm.

COMPENSATION Salary commensurate with education and experience and includes individual medical, dental, life insurance, and retirement benefits through PERA. See salary schedule for more information. Work Year: 153 days for teaching staff. Follows PCSD Calendar (Monday - Thursday). Expected hours: 7:30-4:30 daily
