Assists in providing a secured environment in which students, staff and visitors can take full
advantage of the instructional, extracurricular events by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ?include the following. Other duties may be
? Monitoring of high school campus after normal school hours.
? Monitoring of security camera system.
? Monitoring of bus ramps/parking lots as needed during dismissal.
? Prepares and maintains appropriate records, reports and other documents as applicable.
? Monitors students in an orderly, consistent manner in their designated activity.
? Patrols hallways throughout the school during after school hours.
? Maintains and enforces safe, consistent and established rules for all students.
? Makes campus sweeps to ensure students are only in designated waiting or study areas.
? Monitors high school students and visitors, attending after school functions and events as
needed and assigned by administration.
? Participates in training programs as required or needed.
? Performs parking lot, cafeteria, and hall supervision as applicable.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related
experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple directions,
short correspondence and memos. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents,
colleagues and administration. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from
students, parents, agencies, teachers or members of the school community. Ability to effectively
present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, students and administrators.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid Student Monitor Permit as issued by the Ohio Department of Education is required.
Current driver’s license.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must possess basic skills in reading, writing and math, record keeping, familiarity with security
cameras, or other related items as applicable. Ability to apply common sense understanding to
carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
variables in situations that may arise. Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
Ability to use technology where applicable. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district
requirements and Board of Education policies.
