Description

Contribute to the warm and welcoming environment of our therapeutic school programs for students receiving special education services due to special needs relating to mental illness, behavior disorders and/or autism. The COTA will provide and implement therapeutic services to students according to IEP goals for the purpose of ensuring compliance with established practices and procedures under the supervision of a Certified Occupational Therapist. This position is responsible for documentation of all services.   
 
Applicant must be able to relate professionally, positively and cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, and other team members. The COTA will attend meetings regarding the students, and will provide training and instruction to teachers on the use of assistive devices to ensure devices are used safely and optimal benefits are achieved.
 
*Independent Contractor will work a flexible part time schedule of 10-15 hours per week. This position requires an Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy and a current Illinois Occupational Therapist Assistant license.
