Substitute Maintenance Worker - Buildings; multiple positions available

Qualifications  

• High school diploma or equivalent, or compensating experience
• High level of flexibility and willingness to accept change
• Good human relations and communication skills
• Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Illinois "Class C" driver’s license
• Ability to use standard hand tools
• General familiarity with all of the following areas (advanced knowledge in these areas preferred):
  1. Heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and geothermal equipment
  2. Electrical power and lighting
  3. Carpentry
  4. Plumbing systems
  5. Fire alarm installation, troubleshooting, programming, and service
  6. Burglar alarm installation, troubleshooting, programming, and service
  7. Temperature control systems, both pneumatic and digital
  8. Operation of grounds maintenance equipment
  9. Telephone systems programming and service
  10. Door access controls programming and service
  11. Hardware systems
  12. Floor, wall, and ceiling tile
  13. Building automation systems
• Ability to climb a ladder and work overhead
• Ability to build scaffolding and use lift equipment properly
• Ability to lift objects in excess of fifty (50) pounds in weight
