Job Title: Co-op Student, Human Resources Student

Salary / Calendar:  $11/hr, 29.5 hours per week
Position Function:  This internship works closely with and under the direction of the Human Resources Leadership Team on various projects to learn and gain exposure to Human Resources and other departments within the organization.  
Essential Performance Responsibilities
  • Assists with reviewing and clearing applications in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Assists with New Employee Orientation
  • Provides lunch coverage for the front desk
  • Assists in the creation and revision of job descriptions
  • Assists with updating policies/procedures
  • Assists with coordinating and/or attending hiring fairs and recruitment events
  • Creates recruiting materials
  • Creates training materials
  • Creates and conducts surveys
  • Drafts letters, memos, and reports for Administration
  • Maintains databases, spreadsheets, letters/memos and presentations
  • Assists in collecting, querying and graphing information for compilation of reports as requested
  • Works proactively as part of the HR Team
  • Assists with difficult and varied administrative tasks
Additional Duties
  •  Assists with additional duties as assigned by Supervisor
Equipment:  This position requires the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine.
Travel:  Limited travel between schools and central offices may be required.

Interrelations:  Contact with personnel within the district and with customers and vendors. Will be working with moderate supervision of the department supervisor in order to sufficiently complete day to day tasks. Will be working with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy. Must exhibit a professional manner and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleagues. 
Qualification Profile
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree with Human Resources emphasis
  • Advanced computer proficiency and the ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, which will be determined and validated by testing
