Description


Job Title:  Payroll Specialist
Start Date:  July 1, 2017
Position Type: Full-time; 12-month
Compensation:  Based on education and experience; Benefits are included
 
Requirements of Position

  • Minimum of two years of payroll and/or accounting experience, preferably with Infinite Visions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong math aptitude; highly skilled and accurate in calculations involved in payroll preparation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Possess strong ethics and integrity
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with others
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Processes payroll in a timely manner to ensure paychecks are prepared by established payroll dates
  • Processes payroll deductions including Federal/State Taxes, Medicare, Social Security, Pensions, benefits and all other salary deductions
  • Maintains tracking system of employee time reports and assists with monitoring of employee leave plan balances
  • Submits 403(b) data and works with third party administrator to establish and maintain salary reduction agreements for employees
  • Assists with on-boarding of new employees with regards to personnel files, benefits, and payroll information
  • Processes benefit enrollment/changes for each benefit plan and assists with the preparation of Open Enrollment materials
  • Assists with the preparation of quarterly and annual reports including Tax Form 941, TRS, W2, ACA and 1095-C
  • Maintains and reports required data for State’s EIS system for all reportable positions and employees
  • Maintains payroll/financial files for grant and audit reporting purposes and in accordance with Illinois State Board of Education retention policy
  • Provides administrators, Executive Director, Governing Board and auditors with various payroll related data, reports and schedules
  • Assists in ensuring timely completion of annual state and/or program audits and ensuring implementation of any needed changes or adjustments
  • Maintains confidentiality of staff/personnel information
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of Account Software
