Midle School Paraprofessional
Position Description
The Link Community Charter School Special Education Paraprofessional assists students in the classroom with all instructional material and helps the students with needs outside the classroom that are related to achieving needed skills and requirements for succeeding in school.   Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Paraprofessional also supportslesson planning and paperwork.
General Responsibilities
  • Hold high expectations for each student and work diligently to help them do their personal best.
  • Assist the students with all instructional and non-instructional tasks as assigned by the teacher.
  • Assist the students with the preparation of all materials and books.
  • Assist the teacher in lesson planning and related clerical work as needed to meet students’ needs.
  • Use technology and manipulatives to enhance student learning.
  • Monitor student progress or contribute to classroom teacher’s monitoring.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with classroom teachers, students, and parents.
  • Actively support a positive school culture for all members of the community
  • Believe deeply in the mission and values of Link Community Charter School.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and Head of School.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to relate to and work well with children with special needs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proper grammar and vocabulary usage, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and a commitment to excellent planning and execution.
  • Ability to engage the interest of young people.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of children and to work well with parents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with children and adults.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, bringing a positive attitude, strong personal drive and motivation, joy, flexibility and a sense of humor. 
  • Required criminal history check.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other administrators as designated by the Head of School
