Instructional:

  • Manage Reading Corp Internal Coach responsibilities.

  • Maintain and facilitate effective implementation of  DIBELS for K-6.

  • Provide staff with various reading activities and classroom strategies.

  • Collect and provide feedback for weekly plans for PreK - 6.

  • Provide individualized, classroom-based support to implement comprehensive program. This will include modeling of best teaching practices.

  • Monitor intervention programs by observing and meeting with teachers.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of researched-based instructional strategies that engage all students.  

  • Instruct and support teachers with curriculum software products, and classroom/curriculum related technologies.

  • Provide support for classroom motivation and behavior management strategies.

  • Work with and support the MTSS teams with literacy and behavioral school goals.

  • Assist teachers to collect and analyze data and develop action plans and materials to support student need that are in alignment with curriculum.

 

Curriculum and Professional Development:

  •  Provide Professional development for staff centered on literacy skills, programs and best practices on literacy strategies including SIOP.
  • Instruct and support teachers with curriculum and software products, and classroom/curriculum related technologies.

  • Encourage ongoing professional growth for all staff through the use of MOF (Measured Observation Feedback).

  • Attend workshops/conferences to learn about new innovative instructional strategies. Adhere to all district and building health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens and Building Crisis Plan.

  Leadership and Operations:

  • Attend and facilitate weekly school and admin meetings.

  • Coordinate and facilitate school wide literacy events.

  • Create, maintain and manage interventionist and paraprofessional schedules.

  • Work with the principals to create a school-wide focus on goals for achievement.

  • Perform or assume leadership responsibilities as a member of the executive leadership team.

  • Support testing coordinator with K-6 assessments.

  • Provide encouragement and emotional support to teachers through teacher appreciation.

  • Develop and maintain a confidential, collegial relationship with teachers.

  • Lead facilitator of the MOF (Measured Observation Feedback) Team

  • Perform duties as assigned by the Principal and assistant principal.


    Reading Teacher:

    ? Administers Title One specific assessments and/or tests for the purpose of assessing the level of

    students' competencies.

    ? Advises parents and/or legal guardians of Title I student progress for the purpose of supporting

    teacher's expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in

    the home environment.

    ? Assesses Title I students' (e.g. progress, expectations, goals, etc.) for the purpose of providing

    feedback to students, parents and administration.

    ? Collaborates with a variety of parties (e.g. instructional staff, other school personnel, parents,

    community resources, etc.) for the purpose of improving the quality of Title I student outcomes,

    developing solutions; achieving established program objectives and/or and planning curriculum.

    ? Demonstrates methods required to perform classroom and/or subject specific assignments (e.g.

    phonemic, awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, etc.) for the purpose of providing

    an effective school program and addressing the needs of individual Title I students.

    ? Directs assistant teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student aides for the purpose of

    providing an effective Title I school program and addressing the needs of individual students.

    ? Evaluates students' performance within Title One education for the purpose of determining student

    progress and/or developing remediation plans.

    ? Instructs Title I students using tier 2 and tier 3 reading and math interventions to appropriate students’

    for the purpose of improving their success in academics through a defined course of study.
