Job Summary:   
The After School Student Leaders are accountable to the Principal and functions as a member of the Hope Academy team, which consists of classroom teachers, instructional support staff, school social workers, the principal, and the administrative assistant. As student leader, this person is responsible for developing students' academic skills through courses of study and implementing district approved curriculum; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing feedback regarding student progress, expectations, goals, and activities. S/he will be assist after-school program teachers and coordinators with the overall educational and extra-curricular activities of the participating Hope Academy of West Michigan (HAWM) youth. Assist in developing and executing after school programming and mentor the youth of HAWM.

Additional Job Expectations: 
Participate in staff development activities, staff meetings, in-service trainings, retreats, continuing education courses, and/or professional organizations, school functions including but not limited to, award banquets, carnivals, graduation, etc.

Qualifications: 
The minimum qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of the job such as education, competencies, experience, knowledge and skills. This should include any specialized knowledge and expertise applicable to the job.

• • A student with junior or senior status at HAWM school and in good standing
