K-8 (CC) certified teacher with special education (CI and/or EI preferred)
K-12th Grade Special Education Teacher with (AI); (CI); (SA); (SV); or (EI) Endorsement-Full Time
Responsible for providing appropriate education experiences to meet the needs of youth enrolled in Lighthouse Academy-Main Campus programs. The teacher is accountable to the Principal and functions as a member of the Lighthouse Academy - Main Campus team, which consists of classroom teachers, instructional support staff, school social workers, the principal, and the office staff.
Additional Job Expectations:
Participate in staff development activities, staff meetings, in-service trainings, retreats, continuing education courses, and/or professional organizations, school functions including but not limited to, award banquets, carnivals, graduation, etc.
Teaching degree from an accredited college or university.
Must hold a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with full Special Education certification with SV (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement or (AI); (CI); or (EI) Endorsement and the appropriate Grade Level Description.
Also, have the willingness to acquire the highest level of certification and the status of highly qualified.
Ability to successfully teach students with challenging behaviors.
Proficiency in developing Present Levels of Educational Performance statements, IEP goals and objectives, Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
Proficiency in implementing IEP's and Behavior Intervention Plans.
Distinguished record of accomplishments as evidenced by student work, student achievement or other data.
