This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Incumbent must have three (3) months to one (1) year of work experience.
This position requires the ability to operate personal computers. Incumbent must demonstrate mastery use of Microsoft Office and meet keyboarding requirements of 40 w.p.m. This position requires the ability to read, write, and converse fluently in English in order to communicate effectively with other employees to ensure accurate recording of items.
JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The purpose of this position is to assist property supervisors and the warehouse manager in the tracking and maintenance of inventory levels of supplies and materials used by the Austin ISD, and perform other administrative duties as necessary. Responsibilities are concentrated in the simpler and more routine tasks. Errors may include keying data incorrectly or misclassifying an item, resulting in inaccurate inventory data.
- Enter data into computer system; edit and track computer requests; update computerized inventory files.
- Order, distribute, and redistribute stock items as necessary.
- Answer telephone; take information on orders, relay messages and information.
- Process purchase orders.
- Generate reports (e.g., item status or activity.)
- Perform clerical and record keeping activities (e.g., complete forms, type, file, process payroll) as necessary.
- Perform specialized duties of department (e.g., cover books with jackets.)
Perform other related duties as assigned; however, all employees are expected to comply with lawful directives in rare situations driven by need where a team effort is required.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position involves working in a standard office environment, and on occasion may require heavy lifting. Computer use is required, and prolonged use may result in repetitive hand motion. This position may involve rare exposure to blood or body fluids. Regular attendance is required for this position.
PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS:
Incumbent may receive instructions from a supervisor, but generally works according to a set routine of duties. This position requires daily contact with co-workers and other school departments as well as frequent contact with the public. Purpose of contact is to exchange information on inventory status and to answer or route questions from the general public.

Starting Salary: $13.09/Hr
