.  The Panama-Buena Vista Union School District announces seven (7) vacancies for the position of Instructional Services Coordinator- Extended Learning. The Coordinator will serve under the direction of the Superintendent and under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services.  

The Instructional Services Coordinator-Extended Learning will provide leadership to staff and support personnel related to after school programming and the management of after school classroom instruction including the coordination of District initiatives such as professional development, instructional infrastructure, multi-tiered systems of instruction/intervention, assessment, educational technology, and parent involvement. Special area(s) of focus may include supporting and leading after-school staff,  students, and parents in after-school activities, providing parent academies, supporting extended learning programs, professional development, and instruction/intervention.


  1. Administer a variety of after-school programs to support staff, and students with instructional and intervention strategies, assessment, and professional development.

  2. Coordinate the selection and development of instructional materials, digital resources, and implementation of after-school programs. 

  3. Provide support for after-school staff in the effective organization of classroom instruction for all students, including appropriate implementation of standards, District curriculum, assessments, data analysis, teaching techniques, and instructional strategies.

  4. Develop and supervise parent involvement activities.

  5. Provide leadership in planning, conducting, and evaluating professional development for after-school staff.

  6. Coordinate and/or support the district professional development plan for after-school programs

  7. Serve as a professional development trainer or facilitator of training sessions. Assist in scheduling, preparation of materials, and set up of facilities. Be available to provide support for training sessions that may be held in the evening or on weekends.

  8. Provide leadership and professional development to implement multi-tiered systems of support to strengthen students’ behavior, social/emotional well-being, early literacy, and academic achievement in English-Language Arts, mathematics, ELD, and enrichment.

  9. Provide support for students by acting as a liaison between instructional day classroom teachers and after-school staff regarding after-school programming, intervention, and academic support. 

  10. Direct and monitor assigned after-school programs and personnel to ensure compliance with District policies and intended outcomes.

  11. Organize, direct,  support, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.

  12. Coordinate support service needs: nurses, social workers, and IEP accommodations for the after-school students.

  13. Coordinate family and community outreach events and services.

  14. Provide leadership for after-school program expansion planning. 

  15. Administer the intersession summer programs. 

  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Valid California Teaching Credential
  • Valid Administrative Services Credential
  • Master's degree from an accredited university with major coursework in Education or related field 
  • At leave five years of successful classroom teaching and/or coaching experience
  • Appearance, grooming, and personality which establish a desirable model. Better than an average recommendation from professionals who have observed personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and classroom performance. Must be able to establish good working relationships with other professionals. 

Annual Salary (based on 2021-2022 Salary Schedule) $107,035 to $129,755 (9) steps, 261 working days per year, eight (8) hours per day. Placement on the salary schedule is determined by number of years of administrative experience.  $2,000/year stipend for Doctorate Degree. Additional days, evenings/weekends as needed to perform related job duties and responsibilities. The district currently contributes $18,845.00 for family, dental, medical, and vision insurance plans; life insurance plan for the employee only.
