Minimum Qualifications:
Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in the area of Elementary Education with math, science, and/or art endorsements or experience preferred. Evidence of prior successful teaching experience necessary
Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
Demonstrate the ability to create and implement strategies for weaving STEAM experiences into multi-disciplinary curricula from grades K through 5.
Work in partnership with teachers and staff, modeling consistent effective teaching with technology, engagement, lesson plan design, use of technology, STEAM and online tools.
Understand and be able to design, develop, assess, and manage STEAM learning experiences..
Evidence of planning, organization, and time management skills that will bring structure and accountability to the position/program.
Familiarity with NET-S, NGSS, CCSS. and state Technology Standards is beneficial.
Demonstrated ability to and the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan and work in a collaborative manner with parents and other professionals
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding staff, children and families.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivers STEM/STEAM-oriented instruction through project-based learning methods.
Attends professional development and training related to STEM/STEAM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research.
Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning
Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration.
Works directly with school administrators and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of STEM/STEAM initiatives and curriculum.
Organizes, develops, and coordinates special STEM/STEAM events/activities.
Coaches teachers on STEM/STEAM initiatives and instructional best practices.
Serves as liaison to various vendors and agencies to determine the best resources, options and innovations that will optimize the learning experience for students and staff.
Initiates new programs that support the STEM/STEAM vision.
Shares STEM/STEAM events and activities through various platforms to advertise programming.
Strong Google Apps for Education skills (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, etc). Experience with or willingness to research and learn various tech/engineering tools such as 3D printers, Autocad, vinyl cutting, Arduino, and code.org curriculum and activities
