Description:
A Reading and Math Support Teacher to work in an elementary school setting with teachers and students to provide reading and math support aligned with the SRBI (Scientifically Research-Based Interventions) Initiative. The teacher will have knowledge of Common Core State standards and best practices instruction and will work in partnership with grade level teams, the Curriculum Office, and building principals to provide collaboration and embedded coaching to support the use of standards-based and research-based teaching strategies. The support teacher will help monitor student growth and progress through reviewing and analyzing student assessment data as well as design intervention plans for individual students. In addition, the support teacher will plan and implement professional development activities as needed.
Qualifications:
Applicant must posses Connecticut Teaching Certificate #001, #002, #004, #005, #013, #102. Current Cheshire Public Schools teacher who enjoys working with others to support student learning OR certified applicant with a minimum of four years classroom experience. The ability to maintain confidentiality. Be an independent and collaborative worker and learner and have knowledge of technology and data collection tools.
Salary:
In accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and the Education Association of Cheshire.
