***This position is grant funded for 2022-23***
After 2022-23, this position will be placed where they are qualified to teach.
Hours: 9:27 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. – includes after school tutoring
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate required.
- Elementary (ZG) endorsements required
- Knowledge of MTSS and experience with facilitating Tier 2 instruction (core academics and behavioral)
- Ability to adapt to a changing schedule that adjusts to the needs of students and bring positive energy in a team setting.
- Strong team building and collaboration skills
- Use effective instructional strategies and techniques for all learners
- Work collaboratively with Core Support and PBIS Specialists to ensure a whole child approach to MTSS
- Provide instruction to academic and behaviorally at-risk students
- Provide small group instruction in core academic areas (similar to Core Support)
- Reinforce skills and/or strategies by assisting identified students, in small groups, with activities that supplement the teacher’s instruction.
- Keep an activity log delineating what areas of instruction are focused on (i.e. reading, math, behavior)
- This position will plan and lead after school tutoring for their building. The MTSS Interventionist will plan lessons and provide guidance/leadership to other after school tutoring teachers. After school tutoring will take place 3:45-4:45pm *Late start schools time will be shifted by 15 minutes
- Collaborate with classroom teachers on a weekly basis to plan supplemental programming, accommodation strategies (behavioral) and/or differentiated instruction for identified students.
- Member of the PBIS, MTSS, Core Support teams
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learning of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional development meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
