  Position Summary
The Network Administrator provides support for our IT infrastructure, leveraging an in-depth understanding of network equipment, protocols and systems to architect and implement robust and secure solutions, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems.  position will also be responsible for all network account management, workstation hardware and operating systems, and software applications (local, virtual, cloud). This job is demanding physically, requiring the ability to bend, lift, crouch, kneel, and walk in order to perform essential duties. While this position must focus on end-user’s needs, providing solutions, it must also be focused on staff relationships and the development of trust. It is necessary that the person who fills this position be able to work independently, be highly organized, and be detailed oriented.
 
This is a full-time, 12 month position with paid health and dental insurance, paid holidays, sick, personal and vacation time, and a 9% employer contribution to our retirement plan.  Tuition reimbursement for related college courses is also available.

  
  Position Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree required; certification or direct related experience in lieu of degree may be considered.  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
  2. Minimum of three years network administration experience supporting Windows based software in an educational setting, K-12 experience is preferred.
  3. Field experience supporting end-users in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and Windows applications; knowledge of Active Directory, Azure, and current Windows Operating Systems.
  4. Intermediate knowledge of network switches and networking protocols.
  5. Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot and support Windows clients.
  6. High level of analytical thinking to solve problems with an understanding of technology as well as an ability to ask the right questions and apply solutions.
  7. Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
  8. Ability to engage intellectually and physically in all components of the work process.
  9. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with all constituents (administrators, colleagues, students, parents, and others).
  10. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  11. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Support staff and students with technology related issues in a responsive and service oriented matter including, but not limited to:  PC/laptop/printer issues, software support, AV set-ups, and other support ticket issues.
  2. Install, support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot software and hardware problems related to Windows-based devices and Apple iPads.
  3. Administer, implement, and maintain Cyber Security alongside ongoing monitoring of systems.
  4. Develop and maintain workstation and laptop images.
  5. Check backups for successful completion. Troubleshoot backup issues if backup process does not complete.
  6. Visually inspect server hardware daily, checking for failures.
  7. Manage users in AD / Exchange / M365.
  8. Troubleshoot logon issues / assist users with password changes.
  9. Monitor backups and address issues that may arise. 
  10. Manage SCCM and make application package changes to task sequences when needed.
  11. Troubleshoot and manage DPI and WebBlocker exceptions in the firewall.
  12. Manage Duo 2FA and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  13. Manage Ruckus WiFi System and troubleshoot issues that arise.
  14. Test and deploy new software via SCCM or Group Policy
  15. Performs weekly software upgrades and patch installs on Windows servers
  16. Manage Group Policies and troubleshoot issues that arise.
  17. Provide technical assistance on organization issues, services, program(s), and/or computer hardware and software, etc.
  18. Develop plans to roll out new client OS versions as they are released and execute in SCCM.
  19. Demonstrate competency in each of the VFES core values:  Communication and Listening, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Ethics, Professionalism, and Teamwork.
  20. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures including those stated in the VFES Policies & Procedures manual and additional verbal and written communications provided to staff members.
  21. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, leadership meetings, in-service activities, and other meetings as required.
  22. Maintain technology skills keeping current with industry trends and remains educationally informed in all related areas through continued professional study and attending workshops and conferences.
