School Psychologist

New Milford Public Schools, a growth-oriented, progressive public school district in Bergen County, NJ, is in need of a tenure track school psychologist. Our Department of Special Services is seeking a dynamic candidate. Candidates should have strong communication skills for working with families, students and staff. Looking for someone who is creative, enegetic and willing to work on a team.

The following experiences are an integral part of the position:

• Masters degree or higher with valid New Jersey School Psychologist certificate required.
• Conducts psychological assessments with students and prepares evaluation reports and interprets results.
• Works as a member of the multidisciplinary team to oversee the IEP process and make recommendations for academic programming.
• Updates IEP documents as required by NJAC 6A:14 for assigned students and families.
• Provides case management for assigned students and families.
• Partners with community organizations and makes referrals as necessary to assist students with addressing barriers to educational programming.
• Communicates with parents and families to provide information regarding academic and social-emotional needs of families.
• Consults with building level administration and staff to ensure the fidelity of student's educational programming.
