Description

Aftercare Program Director, Grades PreK-8th grade - Galveston, Texas
Hours: 2:30 - 6:30 pm Mon-Fri
Pay: Hourly rate, paid for time worked

Education and Experience:

  • Must meet TCCB ED Teaching requirements or have a child-care administrator's certificate from a community college with at least 15 college credit hours in child development.  Candidates must be 18 years or older.
  • Have 2-3 years’ experience in developing and implementing after school programs with at least six months experience working with youth in a classroom, after school, or recreation environment. 
  • Must pass a criminal background check and attend Safe Environment training in advance of interaction with children on campus.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required.  (School will provide training in early August.)
  • S/he must possess strong computer skills, have the ability to track data and produce reports. 
  • Possess excellent communication, supervisory, administrative skills.


Program: 

  • Design and manage a site program schedule/calendar together with a school team that includes a variety of educational, enrichment, and recreational activities that align with St. Anne Catholic School. 
  • Ability to create and implement fun, engaging developmentally appropriate activities with adding fitness and recreation to the program.   Lesson plans are due to the Principal weekly.
  • Develop rapport and build relationships with children, faculty, staff and member families. Keeping Parents informed of any behavioral issues observed during program hours.
  • Manages child-care counselors during program hours. Also, ensuring rosters are complete, supply requests are submitted. Oversees distribution of afternoon snacks. 
  • Works with collaborative partners and other outside providers to implement programs that reinforce program success. 
  • Responsible for immediately reporting and documenting any and all injuries or incidents utilizing established procedures for notification to parents, school administration and the Catholic Schools Office.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all program areas; including the upkeep of the equipment and facility in an acceptable manner and the set-up and breakdown during the program day to contribute to ongoing efforts to keep the After Care orderly, including added measures for campus Covid protocols.
